Job Description and Qualification:

The Position

The Account Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, and account servicing of the following assigned accounts:

  • Facility Agency Accounts
  • Investment Management Accounts - Reserve Accounts (linked to the FA Accounts)
  • Escrow Accounts

The role also contributes to the volume and revenue growth targets of assigned accounts through contributions made and the trust fee earnings of assigned accounts, incremental business from existing accounts and new accounts opened.


Facility Agency Accounts:

  1. Prior to loan drawdown, assists the Unit Head in preparing the documents in fulfillment of the conditions precedent and ensures that all said documents are complied with by the Issuer and transmitted to Noteholders within the period as stipulated in the Notes Facility Agreement. This task entails close coordination/constant communication with the representative of the Issuer, Arranger, external legal counsels, internal units (Legal, Credit, CBG, Trust Operations) and the Relationship Managers representing the Noteholders
  2. Receives communications, requests, reports and other documents from the Issuer/Borrower and/or Noteholders/Lender banks and promptly attends to such requests and/or prepares correspondences and transmittal sheets to intended parties
  3. Monitors interest repricing dates of the loans (as may be applicable) and emails to Noteholders the new rate and the covering period of the said new rate
  4. Monitors interest/principal payment due dates, ensures that such payments are billed to the Issuer/Borrower before each due date in coordination with Trust Operations (which prepares the Statements of Accounts), coordinates with the Issuer/Borrower in ensuring that payments are made/transferred to the designated account on due dates, and coordinates with Trust Operations that corresponding share of the Noteholders in the said payment are remitted to their designated accounts before agreed cut-off time on each due date
  5. Ensures that all periodic reports as required under the Agreements are compiled and submitted by the Issuer/Borrower and/or prepared by SBC Trust for transmittal to the Noteholders
  6. Coordinates with parties on scheduling of creditors/borrower meetings and arranging venues for these meetings, attends meetings ensuring all documents required in the meeting are attended to, records the Minutes of the Meeting for subsequent distribution to parties
  7. Handles processing of transfers from existing Noteholder/s to new Noteholder/s, ensuring that such transfer are within the terms and conditions as stipulated in the covering Agreement, including the preparation of the transfer documents and ensuring that such transfer is implemented within the allowed transfer period as may be defined in the said Agreement
  8. Sends out billing out-of-pocket expenses and trust fees due based on statement of account prepared by Trust Operations

Escrow Accounts:

Handles account servicing of special escrow accounts:

  • Ensures that all account opening documents are submitted and complied with by parties
  • Turns over to Trust Operations escrow documents, if any, for safekeeping until released to party/s
  • Servicing the requirements of the Escrows to include investment/placement of Escrow Deposits and coordinating such investment/placement with the Escrow Party/s, the release of escrow deposit/documents to parties as allowed/stipulated in the Escrow Agreement and service such other requirements/requests of the client/s
  • Ensures compliance/strict observance of the escrow terms and conditions regarding the subject escrow which could include safekeeping of documents, temporary release or permanent release of said documents and/or the proper disposition of the escrow funds, including investments thereof
  • Ensures that any release from the escrow account is as stipulated in the covering agreement
  • Takes necessary action as stipulated in the covering agreement
  • Ensures that escrow fees are duly collected or charged against the Fund
  • Handles all documentary requirements prior to termination of the account

IMA - Reserve Accounts

  1. Prepares account opening forms and ensure completeness prior to actual account opening
  2. Services the accounts on investment, withdrawals and ensuring that payment of loan covered by the IMA Reserve Account is executed in coordination with the RM of Corporate Banking
  3. Monitors outstanding balances and investments and provides client/s as requested
  4. Services requests of clients

Audit, Risk, and Compliance Functions

  1. Assists the Unit Head in addressing queries, taking appropriate actions and/or submitting documentary requirements in compliance with internal and external auditors in their regular conduct of audit examination of the Division
  2. Conducts annual accounts' review of all assigned accounts in compliance with BSP regulations
  3. Conducts Risk Control Self-Assessment on assigned accounts
  4. Addresses any Audit, Risk or Compliance issues/queries with respect to the assigned accounts

User Acceptance Testing

Assists the Project Team Head and or the Business Analyst in conducting the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new Trust System or any enhancements' projects in the Trust System and/or such other platform or IT programs used by Trust:

  1. Understands the purpose, application and subsequently the specifics of the new program or enhancement to be tested for user acceptance
  2. Actual User Acceptance Testing based on test scripts
  3. Closely coordinates or works with the other officers of the Division, ITG, Trust Operations or other counterpart units of the Bank and/or the systems vendor in conducting the UAT
  4. Prepares a report which summarizes the findings of the UAT conducted and if applicable, making a recommendation
  5. Assists in the preparation of Business Requirement Document (BRD)
  6. Amends the User Trust System Manual, when applicable
  7. Ensures that UAT/Enhancement Project/s are completed on Target Completion Date/s (TCD)

Other Functions

  1. Takes over the other Account Officer's tasks when necessary, i.e. during the other Account Officer's absence, schedule leaves, and when in meetings
  2. Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the Unit Head, Department Head or the Trust Officer from time to time



  • Bachelor's Degree in any Quantitative Course
  • Must have at least 4 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge on investment and account management
