Job Description and Qualification:


Summary 

The Business Development Consultant is in charge of getting new clients and managing current accounts. In order to get new clients, the Business Development Consultant must prospect for leads, establish a first contact with leads, set up meetings with potential clients, listen actively and ask questions to the Client about his company’s direction and his needs, present our products and services in an attractive manner, create a program proposal based on client’s needs, and present the proposal to the client. The client may give feedback and propose changes to the proposal. When the program design is completed and accepted by the client, the Business Development Consultant must draft the contract and send it to the client.


Responsibilities:
  • Prospecting for leads
    • Review archives and databases for prospect list
    • Revive old / dormant prospects and clients
    • Attending networking events
    • Building relationships
  • Follow-up on leads:
    • Enter leads in the Status Report (Excel) an update frequently
    • Send e-mail, call
    • Follow up frequently
    • Set up meetings
  • Before Meetings:
    • Research the company and the industry, know the challenges and issues
    • Research the person you are going to meet (LinkedIn, etc.) and others in the leadership Team
  • During meetings:
    • Start by asking questions (what are you doing right now for Talent Development, what are you looking for, what are your burning issues, etc.)
    • Present John Clements and JCLI
    • Talk about our approach (Case Studies, in-class discussions with Harvard 
    • trained facilitators, etc.)
    • Set up follow-up meeting for presentation of proposal
  • After Meetings: 
    • Prepare a presentation, avoid preparing written proposals for submission if not requested. Insist on a presentation.
    • Set up or confirm meeting to present the proposal
  • Get their insights on the proposal and make necessary adjustments
  • Once the proposal is accepted, draft the contract and send to AM
  • Once the contract is accepted by AM, send it to the client
  • Brief the Program Manager for the following steps

  • At least 2 years experience in Sales or Business Development
