Job Description and Qualification:

Overview of Role:

Provides management, direction and leadership in the development and application of database, reporting and business intelligence solutions to support the achievement of strategic business plans. Organizes, directs, and controls the implementation of data solutions. Manages the planning, organizing, staffing, leadership and control of activities for the department.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to envision the future and develop strategic plans based upon those visions, and then to take those strategic plans which align with overall company strategic goals, and assist in translating them into realistic tactical plans
  • A successful track record of directing and managing a database, reporting and/or business intelligence solutions team
  • Understanding of database, reporting and business intelligence technologies and related SDLC principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate with end users and management to understand information needs and priorities and then allocate IT resources to meet those needs in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • High levels of problem-solving ability in order to proactively determine problem areas and coordinate implementation of effective solutions
  • Solid team management skills with an ability to coordinate many concurrent resources
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience with clinical applications and other healthcare-related technologies


  • Minimum of (7) seven years of experience developing BI solutions utilizing a variety of BI technologies
  • Minimum of (5) five years of experience managing BI solutions and projects
  • Minimum of (3) three years of experience managing BI development teams
  • Experience with Tableau, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and/or Crystal Reports required.
  • And/or advanced industry knowledge of BI solutions based on a combination of college education, certifications and professional experience
