Job Description and Qualification:

This role will be located within the Integrated Compliance Services (ICS) team at MBPS, reporting to the AML Operations Manager.  The individual shall be responsible for supporting AML systems in ensuring our controls are effective and supporting the various business segments in strengthening the overall AML program thru implementation, enhancements, and oversight of these systems.

The Business Systems Specialist shall be involved in different initiatives/projects and is expected to work with an array of project stakeholders.  The candidate shall participate as a technical, functional, or agile resource and play a vital part in identifying business gaps and relevant solutions to close these gaps.  Responsibilities require little or no supervision. This role is required to have strong knowledge of tools and methodologies surrounding project management, business analysis, and experience in handling systems.

Key Accountabilities

  • Delivery of successful initiatives in a timely manner based on project objectives and success criteria.
  • Promoting and enabling a high degree of collaboration among Business SMEs and decision makers, the Business Transformation Office, the Project Management Office, and Information Services partners to ensure successful, quick delivery.
  • Production of high-quality business requirements; including the collection, analysis, validation and documentation of business users’ or stakeholder’s business needs
  • Identification and escalation of key risks, issues and dependencies, as well as cost benefit tradeoffs among a variety of options to align with overall project and program objective
  • Process modeling and analysis skills including but not limited to process improvements, gap analysis between current and future state along with root cause analysis
  • Accountable for effective change management within projects, in terms of ensuring that change to business requirements are effectively managed to reduce impact to projects
  • Assist business leads in defining short and long term needs to determine business priorities and advise on options

Minimum Requirement to Hire

  • MS Excel functions and formulas
  • Knowledgeable in best in class processes, tools and technology, as well as application of practical results-oriented approach to deliver value-adding solution
  • Understands and with ability to document and question inputs, outputs, business logic and flow of data and can identify dependencies and connectivity
  • Able to handle projects end-to-end, to drive and motivate team members, including cross-functional teams
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills, and able to anticipate difficulties and identify contingency plans
  • Ability to aggregate and present findings using visual diagrams to various audiences, to facilitate decision making
  • Solid and demonstrated understanding of basic insurance operation and processes
  • Understanding of basic Compliance concepts, and in particular AML/ATF.

Minimum Experience

  • At least 5 years of solid business analysis or consultant experience preferably in Financial Services, ideally with Life Insurance backgroiund.
  • Experience in Insurance operations-enabling integrated solutions


  • Computer Science / Information Technology, Financial / Investments, Legal Management degree holder or other relevant education preferred

  • Strong verbal and written skills – can lead meetings, present facts, create impactful presentations, effectively use visual tools, explain complex concepts in a simple and understandable way
  • Ability to provide assessment based on data and analytical reasoning
  • With strong understanding of MS Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with process mapping using BPMN 2.0
  • LOMA level 1 certification is a plus
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge in SQL, or similar tools an advantage
  • A compliance background; in particular, knowledge of AML/ATF requirements (preferred)
