Job Description and Qualification:

Key Accountabilities:

Corrective Action Plans

  • Participate in risk analysis and control design

  • Complete review of processes, define what evidence is required to close a CAP and support coordination of audit evidence documentation

  • Assist with handling of open day to day internal audit points including review of evidence prior to closure

  • Liaise between internal Audit and/or Compliance teams and the Business to ensure evidence meets requirements and/or proper business context and process is well understood

  • Stay informed on legislative/regulatory changes from Compliance and assess impact to business

Control Testing & Support

  • Develop and maintain an inventory of process controls that are in place within the Business

  • Develop a schedule to test controls and execute tests in the business to ensure controls are sustained/maintained (prior to audit coming in)

  • Identify and make mitigation recommendations for hot spots in the business that are risks or could become risks

  • Participate in projects from a risk and controls perspective to understand impacts to existing controls and evolve controls as needed

System Access & Reporting

  • Perform system access and financial controls (e.g. disbursement limits/thresholds)

  • Manage various control reporting for the business (daily, monthly, quarterly and annually)

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the Insurance Administration and/or Contact Centre environments including workflows, processes, systems, products

  • Problem solver, and analytical thinker that able to think beyond the day to day business realities and take a balanced approach to risk and the customer experience

  • Has expertise in evaluating feasibility and practicality of ideas and options, assess risks and tradeoffs and, make informed and timely recommendations

  • Keeps the customer at the centre of everything we do

  • Understanding of controls frameworks and risk management practices

  • Well-organized, with the ability to multi-task and be nimble to switch between priorities in a demanding environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines

  • A self-starter and independent worker

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, ask good questions, interview and motivate team members to a common goal and outcome (often within tight timelines)

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (both verbal and written)

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
