Position Summary  

The Information Systems (IS) Director is supporting THE COMPANY’S strategic goals and improving THE COMPANY’S business performance by leading information systems activities for the GBC in partnership with the Head of GBC and US IS leadership. Key activities include managing the business of information technology, developing and managing IS customer relationships, developing and implementing security, privacy, and data protection controls, managing enterprise information, developing and maintaining information technology solutions, deploying information technology solutions, and delivering and supporting information technology solutions. Reports to TBD and the Head of the GBC as the ranking information systems executive, assists and advises leadership on information systems issues, and coordinates implementation through information systems staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create a GBC-wide strategy for the IS function. Define the organization's IS architecture. Manage the IS portfolio. Research and innovate in the field of IS. Assess and convey the performance and the value of the IS function
  • Define and oversee all information systems activities and determine and authority/responsibility of information systems department and line management within those processes. Activities include:
    • Creating and administering relationships with IS customers. Create a strategy for the IS services and solutions. Create and administer the services levels in IS. Perform demand-side management for the IS services. Manage the satisfaction levels of the IS customers. Strategize the marketing approach for IS services and solutions
    • Creating and deploying an architecture for securing and ensuring the privacy of data flows throughout the organization. Create and develop protocols that ensure proper and efficient use of IS services and solutions. Test, evaluate, and implement the policies and protocols
    • Creating strategies to manage the organization's information and content. Outline the architecture for information. Administer information resources. Administer the management of data and content
    • Creating and preserving the organization's IS solutions. Enhance and maintain IS solutions by creating a strategy for improving the IS function. Perform life-cycle planning for IS services and solutions. Create and maintain an architecture for IS services and solutions. Create and maintain IS services and solutions
    • Executing IS solutions by creating a strategy for deployment. Plan and execute the changes. Plan and administer the release of its IS services and solutions
    • Creating a strategy for successfully delivering the IS services and solutions. Create a strategy for providing IS support services. Manage IS architecture resources. Manage the operational activities of IS services. Provide support for IS services and solutions
  • Develop and drive organizational effectiveness and support the GBC on all major initiatives
  • Manage, lead, and direct the entire IS department including creating and administering budget for the entire information systems function

Functional Area Outcomes and Expectations

·         Ensure strategic goals and projects are implemented efficiently to meet THE COMPANY - ’s strategic goals and objectives

·         Establish and foster a strategic vision to ensure the GBC is viewed as a valued partner and appropriately involved in business decisions

·         Ensure that the GBC is in compliance with THE COMPANY - -specific and healthcare regulatory requirements

·         Create positive relationship among key stakeholders (e.g. IS customers, IS services and solutions providers, etc.)

·         Deliver information systems services and solutions within budget approved and service commitment

·         Manage successfully enterprise information, deploy enhanced IS solutions with minimal disruptions

·         Deliver IS services and solutions within budget approved and service commitment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Experience managing teams in a shared service center environment, with proven experience in training, coaching, and developing key resources

·         Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships across diverse geographies/locations and business units

·         Excellent understanding of information systems, including the information systems strategy and roadmap

·         Fundamental knowledge of information systems practices and procedures and healthcare regulatory requirements

·         Able to elicit requirements from both business and information systems objectives and needs

·         Must have excellent communications, team working, leadership, and change orientation skills

·         Up-to-date knowledge of enabling IT technology domain

·         Willingness to travel

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required Experience: Have 7+ years of experience gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Information Systems 

Preferred Experience: Have 7+ years of experience gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Information Systems. Experience working in a shared service organization serving US business units

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education: Master's Degree
