Job Description and Qualification:

As part of second line of defense, assist the local business management in handling operational risks and ensure relevant departments conduct their business in accordance with regulations as well as with internal policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise the operational unit’s management on how to respond to operational risks identified as a result of risk assessments and/or as a
  • result of an identified event/incident.
  • Monitor the operational unit’s actual risk exposure against the risk appetite levels and employ activities, as necessary, to bring the risk
  • appetite within acceptable levels
  • Monitor the key risks of the business
  • Monitor the design and operational effectiveness of key controls
  • Participate in risk assessments, challenge and advise on risk responses
  • and monitor the execution of remediation
  • Work closely with non-financial risk functions (Legal and
  • Compliance) in order to provide an integrated approach to risk management, to identify and address cross-border implications of issues and internal events, to identify significant non-financial risks and risk mitigation actions and to share best practices and lessons learned.

  • Graduate of any related course in banking or finance
  • At least 5 years experience in operational risk (wholesale banking) in banking industry
  • At least 3 years in managerial capacity
  • Must have the ability to interact and build effective working relationships with peers and all levels of management.
  • Must have strong business acumen and ability to apply practical thinking in solving business problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Visio
