Job Description and Qualification:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the planning, organizing,and implementation of the planned and unplanned maintenance activities in the Power Plant. His responsibility is for the overall upkeep of all Boiler, Turbine and Balance of Plant equipment.Provides Technical support and assists the Lead Mechanical Engineer in the design, formulation and implementation of the plant wide maintenance program including the continuous improvements of the mechanical equipment, systems and related processes in all areas of the power plant facility as described in the Mechanical Department borders.

Experience:  
With at least 8 years of actual experience in a Coal-fired power plant or related heavy industry with at least 5-years as a Supervisor and in a Leadership functions in Mechanical Maintenance.


Together with and in close coordination with the Lead Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Engineer performs the following duties and responsibilities:
  •  Supervises implementation of maintenance set schedule to achieve unplanned downtime equipment operation and have extended equipment service life;.
  • Coordinates and implements predictive and corrective mechanical maintenance works on boiler, Turbine and Balance of PIant;.
  • Plan corrective maintenance execution to prevent equipment downtime;.
  • Plans maintenance, repairs and reviews measures and supervises its execution;.
  • Monitors and identify needed spare parts, tools and manpower resources before the start of any repair and maintenance activities;.
  • Assists the Lead Mechanical Engineer in establishing immediate measures in case of urgent interruptions in the operation and malfunctioning of equipment;.
  • Assists in the inspection of plant facilities conditions including safety and the equipments operational life span.
  • Determines and probe causes and consequence of equipment malfunction and breakdowns;.
  • Develops and evaluates statistics on equipment operations and maintenance;.
  • Assists the Lead Mechanical Engineer in the preparation, implementation, monitoring of its departmental budget;.
  • Participates in the development/preparation of technical work procedures, instructions or manual;.
  • Evaluate engineering proposals for new installations or modification of existing control systems;.
  • Assists in overseeing the department's personnel to ensure immediate response to all emergency call outs and/or service request from Operations and other departments;.
  • Performs work-related tasks that may be assigned by Management
