Job Description and Qualification:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing a strategic approach in the procurement of direct and indirect goods and services across its Manila and Cebu sites. The Procurement Manager will lead a team of procurement specialists and will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors to acquire the most cost-effective deals, manage supplier contracts, and develop procurement policy and standards to ensure processes and governance are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Reviewing and negotiate existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility and optimization of commercial terms
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Collaborating, negotiating, and engaging with key internal stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the procurement strategy
  • Contributing to new business initiatives and projects by reviewing and communicating the impact on procurement activities
  • Participate in the vendor onboarding and offboarding process
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
  • Executing the Vendor Governance Management process including vendor scorecards and annual governance activities for the Global Vendor Governance team
  • Strengthening the procurement practice and governance ensuring adherence to Procurement Policy and Standards. Recommends updates on local policy and standards as needed to improve process efficiency, risk management and overall delivery of goods and services.
  • Responding to audit requirements and implementing audit recommendations
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a high-performing procurement team

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
  • At least 7 years of proven experience managing supply chain operations, sourcing/category management or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, Ivalua and/or Envision
  • Preferably coming from Shared Services, Financial Services or multinational set-up
  • In-depth knowledge of drafting and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint and Access)
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to develop close working relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Strategic sourcing experience in both direct and indirect spend categories is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills and executive presence
  • Excellent people leadership ability with passion for driving teams towards high performance
