It aims to make its platform more secure, stable and scalable to deliver the right experience for these partners, while also staying at the forefront of healthcare technology by integrating new capabilities such as deep learning and a self-serve product.

To oversee this, we require a dynamic, experienced technology leader to serve as its first Vice President of Engineering, reporting directly to the CEO/CTO with the following responsibilities:

    • Define the team structure and headcount requirements to achieve the product milestones agreed on by the Board and CEO/CTO
    • Oversee the implementation of new tools, tests, and practices to make our development process more efficient and our core product more robust
    • Recruit, manage and mentor new engineering managers and engineers into Lifetrack, as well as our existing team of developers
    • Oversee the expansion of the company's engineering team to multiple locations and/or manage external engineering vendors, as necessary
  • Strengthen the company's position as a technology leader in medical imaging and healthcare
    • Collaborate effectively with the CEO/CTO to continue innovating on the core product architecture and generating new intellectual property
    • Bring to bear his/her expertise to improve and upgrade the company's technology stack by making the right choices on the adoption of new components
    • Oversee the effective integration of third-party capabilities, features, and products that provide the company with a competitive technology advantage
    • Develop a deep understanding of the technology stacks prevalent with competitors in medical imaging, and other cutting edge healthtech companies globally
Critical Requirements

  • Technical expertise. The VP of Engineering must be proficient in the LAMP technology stack, and experienced with JavaScript programming. Knowledge and experience in other technology stacks relevant to healthcare or enterprise software-as-a-service models is highly valued.
  • Engineering leadership. A proven track record in leading an effective engineering team or organization is required for this role. We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate strong upward feedback from team members while delivering requirements on-time and with high quality.
  • Team builder/manager. While the VP Engineering is expected to be a strong individual contributor, he/she will also be expected to recruit other strong engineers and engineering managers to support further growth, and effectively develop and nurture technical talent.
  • Collaborative mindset. The VP of Engineering will be expected to partner effectively with the CEO/CTO, the chief architect behind the platform, to deliver on our commitments to partners and customers while maintaining a coherent vision for the technology.
