This position is responsible for providing ongoing support and maintenance as well as assisting with the enhancement and expansion the Workday platform. The Workday Analyst will have a dynamic and challenging role, providing support in several areas of the Workday Human Capital Management system while specializing in Payroll/Benefits-related functionality. This role will work closely with functional stakeholders/process owners throughout HR, Payroll/Finance, and IT, as well as 3rd party service providers in the areas of Payroll and Benefits IT, to continually enhance and support Workday functionality and business processes.

While well versed in all Workday HCM areas of functionality, a primary focus for this position will be on providing production support for functionality in the areas of Payroll/Benefits. This role has a strong focus on managing the broader end-to-end functionality, configuration, downstream impacts and integrations related to the Payroll and Benefits areas. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot issues escalated from Payroll, Benefits, and HR Shared Services tiers I and II, incl. analysis, potential configuration changes, testing and deployment
  • Identify and recommend business process improvements, and/or system optimization opportunities to better align with business needs
  • Proactively monitor Workday Feature Release and Weekly Patch documentation
  • Collaborate with appropriate functional areas to recommend features for uptake and manage the implementation of new features, incl. documentation, configuration, testing and deployment
  • Support the Workday and broader HR Technology team, as well as IT and other functional stakeholders, with deep product expertise and on-demand consulting regarding Workday functionality related directly and indirectly to Payroll and Benefits
  • Develop user procedures, guidelines, documentation, and training materials for the Workday system
  • Proactively and continuously pursue skills and professional development and training, and acquire new technical knowledge and abilities


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or, equivalent combination of education, skills and professional experience
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience supporting enterprise HCM systems in hands-on, business focused roles, preferably in large global organizations
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on configuration experience with the Workday platform; experience with a Workday implementation preferred
  • Experience capturing user requirements and documenting business processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with high attention to detail
  • Strong self-initiation and the ability to work independently when necessary, while simultaneously being a strong team player
